In a surprising brief notice to clients LabCorp has suspended the OvaSure test as of October 24 2008.  I received a fax in my office today October 23 noting the change; Dr. Marcia Eisenberg was cited as a corporate contact for questions at 800-533-0567 x 7760. Along with the fax was a letter dated October 20 2008 addressed to FDA's Steven Gutman regarding the change.  In the letter LabCorp Senior VP Samuel Eberts III vigorously disputes the FDA's claim to jurisdiction over the test but reports that LabCorp is "voluntarily" discontinuing the test as of October 24 2008 and requests a meeting with FDA to discuss the new findings.
